Chris Humphreys

A playwright, fight choreographer and novelist, Chris (CC) has written ten adult novels including ‘The French Executioner’, runner up for the CWA Steel Dagger for Thrillers; ‘The Jack Absolute Trilogy’; ‘A Place Called Armageddon’; ‘Shakespeare’s Rebel’ and the international bestseller, ‘Vlad – The Last Confession’ which sold over 150,000 copies worldwide.

He also writes for young adults: a trilogy called ‘The Runestone Saga’, a heady brew of Norse myth, runic magic, time travel and horror; and ‘The Hunt of the Unicorn’ with a loose sequel, ‘The Hunt of the Dragon’, published Fall 2016.

His most recent novels were tales of religious fundamentalist serial killers set against the wild events of 1665 to 1666, London: ‘Plague’ won Canada’s Arthur Ellis Award for Best Crime Novel in 2015 and the sequel, ‘Fire’ published Summer 2016. Both novels spent five weeks in the top ten on last year’s Globe and Mail, and Toronto Star Bestseller lists.

Chris is translated into thirteen languages.

In 2015 he earned his Masters in Fine Arts (Creative Writing) from the University of British Columbia.
