Carl Gibeily was born in Lebanon in 1966. After school in Beirut, he read engineering at Cambridge. He has worked as an engineer in South Africa, a confectionery salesman in Dubai, a journalist and UN editor in Beirut and Bahrain, and a Bloomsbury editor in Doha. Carl lives in Edinburgh with his wife and two children.
His first novel, Blueprint for a Prophet, was published by Doubleday to critical acclaim.
